Ethel Barrymore, an America actress. She comes of a celebrated dramatic family, her parents, Maurice Barrymore and Georgina Drew, were both well-known artists, and her brothers, John and Lionel, hold important positions on the American stage.

Miss Barrymore first attracted general attention in Clyde Finch’s Captain Jinks in 1900. Since then she has successfully created many rôles in the plays of Barrie, Pinero, Galsworthy, Chambers and other dramatists.

Her beauty, her deep, rich voice, her charm of manner, her mastery of her art, both in comedy and serious plays, have deservedly made Miss Barrymore one of tech most popular and admired of American actresses.
