Adelaide Kemble, an English opera singer and author. Of a famous dramatic family, being a daughter of Charles Kemble, Niece of Mrs, Siddons, and the sister of Fanny Kemble, she devoted herself to musical studies.

After a short though brilliant career as an operatic singer, she married Edward Satoris, an Italian gentleman of fortune, and retired to his estate in Italy.

Her A Week in a French Country House is a bright and humerus story. In 1974, her son, Algernon Charles Satoris, married the daughter of President Grant.
