Phoebe Cary, an American writer, sister of Alice Cary. Her writings were chiefly poems very different in style from those of her sister, being more buoyant in tone and more independent in manner.

She wrote a very beautiful and touching tribute to her sister’s memory, which was published a few days before her own death.
