Caroline Francis Cornwallis, an English author. She acquired a thorough knowledge of Latin and Greek, and making herself conversant with nearly every study which occupies thoughtful men, from an early age she carried on a correspondence with many eminent persons.

Her first work, Philosophical Theories and Philosophical Experience, by a Pariah (1842) was the first of a series of twenty Small Books on Great Subjects, the subjects including the Connectionof Physiology and Intellectual Science, Ragged Schools, Criminal Law, Greek Philosophy, and the History and Influence of Christian Opinions.

Miss Cornwallis also published in 1847, Pericles, a Tale of Athens.
