Countess von ArnimCountess von Arnim
English Writer
1866 – 1941 A.D.

Countess von Armin (Mary Beauchamp), an English writer, born in Sydney, Australia, in 1866. She married Count von Armin, a German nobleman, who died in 1910, and in 1916 she was married to Earl Russell.

Her first published book, Elizabeth and her German Garden was published anonymously in 1898. The delightful picture which it gives of outdoor life in Germany, and the charming vivacity of its style made it at once a great success in England and the United States. In similar vein is The Solitary Summer, brought out in 1899. Since then she has written a number of novels, and some books of travel in the guise of fiction.
