Ruth McEnery Stuart

Ruth McEnery Stuart, an American story-writer, born in Louisiana, educated at New Orleans.
In 1879 she married Alfred O. Stuart, a cotton planter, and in later life, she made her home in New York City.
Mrs. Stuart’s books have been deservedly popular, and her richly humorous negro sketches have a leading place among their kind.
