Therese ElsslerTherese Elssler
Austrian Dancer
1808 – 1878 A.D.

Therese Elssler, sister of Fanny Elssler, was less graceful, but also exhibited great strength, boldness and agility.

She almost invariably danced with her sister, and used to efface herself in order to heighten the effect of Fanny’s more brilliant powers.

In 1850, after having retired from the stage, she became the wife of Prince Adalbert and was made Baroness von Barnim.
